A constant in Tassos Vrettos’s work is his unwavering interest in the concept of the ‘image within the image’. In this group of large scale photos Vrettos subversively hinds to the mythology of the woods and the limits of perception, by making unexpected apparitions out of a number of gypsies blankets lurking in the heart of the forest. The result alludes to the aristocratic painting of hunting scenes and lush Arcadias.
